The Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek is a beautiful and accessible adventure in Nepal, offering stunning views of the Annapurna massif and surrounding peaks. At the trek’s conclusion, you will reach the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), located at 4130 meters. This trek is not the most challenging in the region but provides a remarkable experience with breathtaking mountain scenery.
The journey takes you through the heart of the Annapurna region, passing charming villages inhabited by Gurungs, Chhetris, Magars, and Brahmins. You’ll trek through the preserved Annapurna Conservation Area, witnessing diverse landscapes and local culture. The route follows the footsteps of the legendary 1970 British expedition led by Chris Bonington to the southern ABC, offering a historical connection to mountaineering pioneers.
Along the way, you’ll be surrounded by majestic peaks such as Annapurna I, II, III, Gangapurna, Hiun Chuli, Machapuchhre (Fishtail), and more. The trek also offers a visit to the Machapuchhre Base Camp, another iconic destination in the region.
After a week of hiking, you’ll unwind in the natural thermal springs of Jhinu Danda, providing a soothing experience for tired muscles.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Welcome to Kathmandu, the gateway to the Himalayas. Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), our MENDOO ADVENTURE staff will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. Take some time to rest and recharge. Later, your tour guide will meet you in the hotel lobby to brief you about the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) short trek, discuss essential gear, and assist you with renting any missing items at affordable rates. You can spend the rest of the day relaxing or exploring the lively streets of Kathmandu, filled with vibrant shops, delicious food, and unique cultural experiences.

Day 02: Flight to Pokhara, Drive to Jhinu, Trek to Chhomrong
After breakfast, we'll head to the domestic terminal for a scenic flight to Pokhara, offering stunning views of the Himalayas. Upon arrival, we’ll drive to Nayapul and then take a jeep to Jhinu Danda, shortening the trek. After a brief stop at Jhinu Danda, known for its hot springs, we’ll begin our trek to Chhomrong, a picturesque village with panoramic mountain views, including Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and Annapurna.

Day 03: Trek to Himalayan Hotel
We’ll start the day with a delicious breakfast in Chhomrong before descending to cross the Chhomrong Khola on a steel bridge. We’ll trek through forests of bamboo and oak, passing villages like Sinuwa, until we reach the Himalayan Hotel, nestled in the beautiful valley. Along the way, enjoy views of the surrounding mountains and waterfalls.

Day 04: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp via Machhapuchhre Base Camp
Today, we ascend towards the renowned Annapurna Base Camp. After a hearty breakfast, we’ll hike through stunning landscapes, crossing rivers and ascending to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700 m), before continuing to ABC (4130 m). Enjoy spectacular views of Annapurna I, II, III, Gangapurna, and Machhapuchhre.

Day 05: Return Trek to Bamboo
Rise early to enjoy the morning views of the majestic Himalayas. After breakfast, we’ll descend via Machhapuchhre Base Camp, Deurali, and Dovan, eventually reaching Bamboo, nestled in the forest. This route offers an enchanting walk through lush forests and picturesque valleys.

Day 06: Trek to Jhinu Danda, Drive to Pokhara
After breakfast, we’ll continue our descent past Sinuwa and Chhomrong, crossing the Modi Khola and making our way to Jhinu Danda. Take time to relax in the natural hot springs here. Then, we’ll drive back to Pokhara, where you can enjoy a peaceful evening by the lakeside.

Day 07: Flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu

Day 08: Departure
