Hello everyone, I’m Lakpa Dawa Sherpa, the Managing Director of Mendoo Adventure Trekking, a company based in Nepal. I was born in Solukhumbu, Nepal, the gateway to the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, and grew up in a middle-class family. From a young age, I was fascinated by trekking, largely due to the influence of my two older brothers, Dawa Tenji Sherpa and Ang Chongba Sherpa. I started my trekking career in 2011 at the age of 15, with my first trek to Everest Base Camp. The experience was unforgettable—I was awe-struck by how close the mountains seemed, almost as though I could reach out and embrace them. I still remember being the youngest in a group of 17 people from the UK. Since then, I have developed a deep love for these majestic mountains and have explored many trekking routes throughout Nepal.
Now, I want to offer you a chance to experience the beauty of these mountains for yourself. Take a break from work at least for two weeks—you might find it to be one of the most rewarding weeks of your life. If you’re reading this, you probably already share my passion for the mountains!
